Even those new to the IDIC Institute may still be familiar with the simplified orthography developed by the Vulcan Academy Language Department (VALD) for Modern Vulcan and its High Vulcan borrowings.
This, however, will not be of much use with
non-standard dialects and ancient languages. In order to better represent Surakian and pre-Surakian writings -especially for the growing number of offworlders- we have developed our own system,
yet another combination of diversities.
To wit: kitties!
