The thing is, we don't even know what we owe Isaac Hayes. It can't really be gauged. Start with Sam & Dave, and work your way through the musical landscape to the day we lost him, and maybe... maybe you'll begin to understand the impact he had on soul, and funk, and fusion and rap music.
Just... look, just know that you owe him. And that he'll be sorely missed.
