A Lamp in the Street, Obscurity at Home

The Rio Grande... now there's a crazy river.

The Rio Grande just keeps flooding and changing course and messing-up all the maps... and there's this sign posted on its bank -right at the border- which reads: "WILD RIVER - REASONABLE MEN."

I guess it's just to remind people to be philisophical about the river; about how often the river moves, and property changes hands and Mexico becomes America and America, Mexico.

The sign that should be posted at the border is that old Mexican proverb:
"POBRE MÉJICO.
TAN LEJOS DE DIOS;
TAN CERCA DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS."
