By 1984, I'd seen Van Halen three times... and before that particular "morning after"? Before that Thursday morning at Irvington, ears still ringing from the Van Halen show we'd seen the night before? No one had ever asked me what Diamond Dave had worn the night before. Seems that after all the girls in school saw Jump, Dave's outfits were all anyone cared about anymore.
So, yeah... thanks for that, MTV.
